Choosing a monitor arm
Start with your monitor's weight excluding its stand, its mounting-hole pattern and your desk's structure. Many monitors use VESA mounting, but patterns and included hardware vary. A clamp mount may not suit every desktop, particularly some glass or hollow-core surfaces. Gas-spring adjustment ranges and monitor dimensions matter as much as appearance.
A practical checklist
Confirm VESA compatibility; compare supported weight and screen dimensions; measure desk thickness and rear clearance; check cable routing and full movement before tightening. If the monitor lacks standard mounting holes, a separate adapter may be necessary.
